Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)

About GAC

GAC is an irregular shape and defined as the activated carbon being retained from8 - 40 mesh(2.360mm - 0.380mm) sieve.

In terms of reactivation and recycles of GAC, absorption capability will be different under various reactivated process.

Generally, the weight and the size of GAC will loss about 10%-15% during reactivation process because it is related to size, absorption and saturation.

Applications

Mainly used to water treatment, removal of organic compounds. Also apply to air purification, hydrogen sulfide, thiol and ammonia.

Advantages

1. Better hardness, easier to clean than powder activated carbon.

2. Longer performance when applied inside carbon tower.

3. Environment friendly, reusable and reactivated.

Processing Services

Acro offers acid-wash services for special requirement, which applied to deal with acid or neutral water, avoiding TDS dissolved from activated carbon affects the quality of water.

Characteristic of acid wash:

1.To decrease volume of ash

2.Modify pH value to make it close to neutral

3.Lower volume of iron and heavy metal to avoid contamination

4.Lower volume of Chlorine, avoiding damaging equipment

5.Maximise absorption of smelly molecule
